Another amazing Whit Friday experience for the Silver Band. We hope all our friends in the village enjoyed it too!!

The morning processions were a magnificent spectacle as always despite the miserable weather. This year it was also the turn of the Silver Band to play hymns on the field in Uppermill to accompany the service. Thank you to James Atkins and Dobcross Youth Band for their support with this.

Later in the day we took part once again in the Saddleworth Whit Friday Band Contests and overall achieved a superb 20th place out of 117 Bands We performed at eight venues, winning prizes at six of these including four 3rd Section titles! The most successful return in many years and confirming the progress which continues to be made under MD Jason Smith.

Look out for the Band performing in Dobcross once again on 30th June with our annual Brass on the Grass concert, hopefully blessed with good weather this year!!
