The Silver Band had another successful contest day on Sunday 29th September after another triumph at the Red Admiral Entertainment Contest.

We came away not only as the overall 3rd Section winners but also took away trophies for the best Bass Section and best Euphonium & Baritone section too!

This was a new challenge for the Band which they rose to superbly under the guidance of MD Jason Mark Smith, who not only conjured up the programme of music but also the accompanying video presentation.

It was a tremendous performance all round included a stunning soloist item from our Soprano Cornet player Steph Jayde Wood and the skills of Catherine Hearne (from the Bailey Dolls fame) as narrator.

We would also like to a massive thank you to the contest organisers and everyone at the Red Admiral Music Academy that pulled out all the stops to ensure that the contest was superbly organised and ran on the day – we look forward to attending next years event!

It was another big step forward for the Silver Band.
