Another memorable Whit Friday in Dobcross!! A massive thank you to the Dobcross Whit Friday Committee and the team of volunteers for making it happen once again!!
The morning processions are such a wonderful spectacle and each year the numbers watching seem to get bigger and more enthusiastic! The brass band movement continues to flourish in Dobcross, best shown by the amazing numbers of enthusiastic and talented young players in the Youth and Training Bands, all enjoying the experience!
We played at 6 villages in Saddleworth and one in Tameside, and out of the 7 contests entered, we claimed an amazing 6 3rd section prizes at:
- Dobcross
- Friezland
- Lees & Springhead
- Lydgate
- Scouthead & Austerlands
- Top Mossley
Overall, then we were placed 28th out of 110 Bands in the Saddleworth competition which is another amazing achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication from the MD and the band.
