The Silver Band took part in the annual Brighouse March and Hymn contest (6/07/25) competing against 19 other bands – the band was drawn 9th and put on a fine performance of John Golland’s arrangement of Deep Harmony, followed by the well known march Knight Templar.

The contest was adjudicated by David Hirst and Sarah Groake-Booth and they awarded the band with the following:

• Best 3rd Section Band.
• Best Soloist – Soprano (Keith Russell).
• Best Trombone Section.
• 5th overall.

It was another great day at the office for the Silver Band, keeping up our rich vein of form as we continue to prepare for our forthcoming 3rd Section Nation Finals appearance in September!
