The Silver Band took part in their last 3rd section contest on Saturday Oct 18th (following promotion to the 2nd section from January after winning the 3rd section National Finals at Cheltenham in September) at the NWABBA Rochdale contest at Wardle Academy.

The band were drawn to play 2nd (out of 5 bands) and were crowned winners by the adjudicator on the day, Helen Williams who was full of praise for how the band tackled “Images for Brass” by Stephen Bulla, signing off her remarks with “I really enjoyed your performance!”

The band are now rehearsing hard for the 2nd of our 150th Anniversary Year concerts, at Uppermill Civic Hall on November 22nd at 7pm, where we are delighted to be joined on stage by some very guests – the amazing Dobcross Youth and Dobcross Brass Monkeys bands!
